Thimphu Tsechu Festival in September The Festival takes place in the courtyard of the Tashichho Dzong, the “Fortress of Glorious Religion.” The dzong housed the original National Assembly and now houses the Secretariat, the throne room, and the offices of the King. The northern portion of the Dzong is the summer residence of the Central Monk Body.
