Bhutan is one of the last unexplored fishing destinations in the world. For centuries, with its back turned to the outside world, Bhutan had remained a mystery.
You will experience the unique joy of fishing in Bhutan, in which beautiful trout streams, mountain vistas, and cultural scenes from 8th century intermingle. All our fishing trips offer a creative combination of fishing in the best areas and cultural activities. To organize a trip for only fishing would be a mistake. With its ancient culture, mystical religion, many historic sites, exotic festivals, and rich environment, Bhutan has many attractions to offer.
You will spend about 5 - 6 days fishing on three of the best fishing rivers in the country. You will have two full days of fishing in Pho Chu and Punatsang Chu rivers in Punakha. Although the fishing in Punakha area is more challenging than other places, the biggest fish in Bhutan are found here. You will then spend next two days camping and fishing on the beautiful Nikka Chu. This is one of the best fly fishing areas in Bhutan! The scenery is drop dead beautiful. We will set up the camp along the river for best in both fishing and comfort. A beautiful Bhutanese traditional tent will be set up for meals, gathering and fish stories. Haa will be our next fishing destination. In addition to wonderful scenery, Haa has some very old gompas (monasteries) and lhakhangs (temples). We will spend two days camping, fishing, hiking, and exploring this valley. You will spend the remaining days of your trip visiting ancient dzongs sturdy fortresses, temples, monasteries, villages, and the people. Our itineraries will always be flexible to allow for changing weather and shifting interests. All our trips are physically non-demanding and most of our itineraries are designed to add and subtract activities to allow for changing weather, shifting interests and to take advantage of unexpected opportunities as we go along.

Important Note
Most of our trips take place during the busy season and it is difficult to secure reservations on Druk Air and in Hotels in Paro, Thimphu, Wangdi Phodrang, Tongsa and Bumthang. The farther in advance that you book, the more likely it is that we can confirm the resrvation you choose.
The rule of thumb is: Book as far in advance as possible, but don't hesitate to contact us at the last minute if free time suddenly comes your way.
