For centuries, with its back turned to the outside world, Bhutan had remained a mystery. Referred to as the Last Shangrila, this mythical kingdom is quite possibly the most beautiful country on Earth. The policy of restricted tourism provides opportunity for only a priviliged few to visit Bhutan.
The countrys largely deserted single-lane highway offers challenging climbs as well as mind-blowing descents with ever-changing scenery. Nowhere else in the world can you find such extraordinary natural beauty, and biological and cultural diversity in a country 1/10th the size of California. Mountain bike through the unspoiled wilderness, teeming with wildlife, past deep river valleys, beautiful mountain slopes dotted with ancient temples and monasteries, terraced fields and remote villages. Imagine a mountain biking adventure where every bend in the trail reveals yet more stunning scenery!
Bhutan with its ancient culture, mystical religion, many historic sites and exotic festivals has many attractions to offer. To organize a trip for only mountain biking would be a mistake. All our mountain biking trips offer a creative combination of biking in the best areas and cultural activities. Our itineraries will always be flexible to allow for changing weather, shifting interests, and participation of bikers with different skill levels. As there will always be a vehicle following the group, the bikers may hitch a ride at any time.
Accommodations will be in comfortable hotels with private bath (unless otherwise specified in your detailed trip itinerary). Meals and in-between refreshments will be served throughout the trip.
