How far in advance do I need to book?
The farther in advance that you book, the better it is. The rule of thumb is: Book as far in advance as possible, but don't hesitate to contact us at the last minute if free time suddenly comes your way. Also check our special offer page for last minute availability and special discounts.

How do I sign up for a trip? What deposit is required?
Signing up for a Insiders' Bhutan trip -- it couldn't be easier! Simply fill out and submit our online registration form with US$300 deposit. You may choose to sign up through one of our partner travel agent in your area. We'll take care of everything for you. Your deposit can be paid by check, money order, bank transfer or deposited in a Citi Bank or other international Bank account in your city. You may also choose to pay online using your credit card.

How do I reserve my trip online?
If you want to join any of our pre-scheduled trips, please use the "Reserve Now" button in any of our pre-scheduled trip summary pages (click the following link to go there now Insiders' Bhutan Trips.) If you are planning a private trip, you will find the trip reservation form in your "Personalized Private Trip Planning Page" that we create for you. However, if you don't have time to check out various options provided in this web site, you just fill out and submit our online trip matching form, and we will email you suggestions of trips that best match your interest.

Bank transfer is the most convenient mode of payment for us.

Can I use my credit card to pay for my trip? In which currency do I make the payment?
Payment is mostly accepted in USD, GBP, DM, Euro and Yen. Yes, you can use credit card to pay for your trip. We can help you transfer payment online using your credit card (Visa/Mastercard) or a US bank account. However, it's a long process and involves the services of certain online money transfer firms. Contact us if you need more information on this.

What are the accepted currencies in Bhutan?
Banks in Bhutan accept US, Australian, Canadian, Hong Kong or Singaporean dollars, Euro, Pounds Sterling, Danish, Swedish or Norweigen kroners, French or Swiss francs, German marks, Dutch gilders, Japanese yen and Thai baht. However, more common ones like US dollars and pounds Sterling are the best options. Most shops, hotels and organizations in Bhutan do not accept Credit Cards and there are no ATM machines.

Do you offer any type of travel protection insurance?
There is no personal insurance included in our tour price. We recommend that you obtain travel insurance to protect yourself against trip cancellation due to medical reasons, loss or damage of baggage, non-refundable air transportation or emergency medical expenses. Quite a few agencies such as Travel Guard International, Travelinsurance2000.com, Internationaltravelinsurance.com and travelinsurers.com, offer services on the internet. After I sign up for a trip, when will I receive more detailed information about my trip so I can start planning?
Upon receipt of your reservation and deposit, we will send a confirmation and pre-departure packet. This packet will include a daily itinerary, and all information and suggestions for preparing for your trip.

Can I change my mind and transfer to another trip even after I've already made a reservation?
You may transfer from one trip to another up to 30 days before trip departure.

What if I need to cancel my trip? What is your cancellation policy?

Cancellation Policy
Trips booked and subsequently cancelled are subject to cancellation charges as follows:

45+days:

US$75.00 administration fee.

30-45 days: US$150 per person will be retained, which may be used in full towards a trip in the future.

21-30 days: US$300 per person will be retained, which may be used in full towards a trip in the future.

15-20 days: 35% of trip price will be retained, 25% of which can be used towards a trip in the future.

7-14 days: 50% of trip price will be retained, 35% of which can be used towards a trip in the future.

Less than 7 days: 100% of trip price will be retained, 50% of which can be used towards a trip in the future.


Exception to this rule cannot be made for any reason, including weather or personal emergencies.
