Changing lives .... Making a difference!

"Some people come into our lives and quickly go.
Some stay for awhile and leave footprints on our hearts.
And we are never, ever the same."

The Friends of Bhutan Giving Back (FBGB) is an informal public benefit program that offers unique volunteer opportunities to the friends of Bhutan from around the world. The main focus of the program is entrepreneur education and the formation, growth and success of small business in Bhutan. This will strengthen the local and national economy through the creation of small business successes. Small business means jobs, fortunes, dreams come true, self-reliance, better quality of life and Gross National Happiness.

FBGB volunteers bring real-world experience and serve as counselors, advisors and mentors to aspiring entrepreneurs and business owners. They provide expert advice on any specific industry as well as general business advice on everything from how to write a business plan, to cash flow management, to developing a e-commerce plan for small business firms. Assistance may also involve identifying business opportunities, investigating the market potential for a product, developing a website, choosing appropriate technology and business tools, assessing the capital needs for a start-up business, establishing business contacts abroad, or finding the best prices, procurement and shipping arrangments for Bhutanese business firms wanting to import goods from abroad. The volunteers may also provide insight into how to start a business, and how to operate and grow a business successfully.

The FBGB volunteers are successful, business professionals who have owned, managed, taught and/or operated businesses. Working or retired business owners, business executives, business professors or consultants in different parts of the world donate their time, skills and resources as a public service to help aspiring Bhutanese entrepreneurs and small business owners set their course for success.

Qualified FBGB volunteers receive orientation and briefing/information packet, so they understand FBGB mission, services and volunteer opportunities. It also provides information on Bhutan and our culture, and guidance on how to participate in a FBGB Volunteer Program.

All Volunteers and participants honor a code of ethics that ensures professional conduct and meaningful friendship.
